Title: Let it Be
Post by: Mi-Hui Seong on April 07, 2017, 12:18:21 AM

Sighing Mi plopped down in her chair. She had no idea how long she has shut herself in the library, but she was far from being done. Mi had heard something strange today about Healing, and she was determined to get to the bottom of it. She had thought she had learned a fair amount in her years, but it still shocked her just how much she didn't know. Of course, the person she was talking to could have been lying, but it had been almost impossible to tell without putting a life at risk, so Mi-Hui has resorted to the library.

There was a stack of 7 or 8 books that she had already gone through, and only 3 or 4 were remaining. She knew she would likely be here all night. She should have been heading back to her rooms to sleep, but she knew that sleep wouldn't come until she had an answer. Thankfully, she had thought ahead and gotten lots of coffee brought up to her. She would need the caffeine boost when the early morning hours hit. Suppressing a yawn Mi-Hui grabbed her cup and took a gulp, frowning at it. It had gotten cold already, hadn't she just called for it? Time was obviously going too fast. Without really thinking she used her jewel to put a warming spell on the pot, that would keep it warm.

Feeling slightly energized now, Mi-Hui picked up her book and started pacing as she read. If she stayed in that chair all nice her legs would get far too stiff and it would make doing anything tomorrow a horrible experience. Nope, nope, nope. She was really starting to think that this person had just been lying to her to get under her skin. Actually that made perfect sense considering who they were. Frustrated Mi-Hui shook her head. She had already gotten this far, might as well continue now.

wandering these darkened halls
@[Me-Hui Seong]
Normally, Nari had little problem falling asleep, but for some reason tonight sleep was eluding her. She debated calling for a cup of tea, but that would mean waking one of the maids, and they worked hard enough as it was. But tossing and turning in bed wasn't helping either. Maybe a walk. A little physical activity to tire her muscles out and hopefully get her mind to settle. She got up and pulled a dark red robe out of the closet and wrapped it and a Grey sight shield around herself as she slipped out of the room. No need to bother a guard or escort if she was just going to walk inside her own house, surely. They deserved their rest, and she was safe enough here. Granted, they probably wouldn't see it that way, but that was men for you. Always overprotective.

She hadn't had a destination in mind when she started wandering, but when she noticed a light on in the library she decided to see who else was awake. She dropped the sight shield as she entered so she didn't end up frightening anyone, but she still moved quietly in case it was just someone had fallen asleep while reading. But no, there were recently moved books on the table, and an almost empty cup of coffee rapidly cooling next to them. She was reading the titles when she heard someone approaching and looked up to see her Court Healer, Mi-Hui. "Working late?" she asked, stepping back slightly from the table in case Mi-Hui was planning on sitting back down. "Or were you having trouble sleeping as well?"

Mi was totally consumed by her reading, she wasn't aware of anything else. She knew it was far too late, and that she should be sleeping. She should really be sleeping.. but she needed answers. It was a flaw of hers, Mi couldn't leave things alone and once she had some unknown in her hand she barely rested until she had an answer. It may not have been the healthiest way to live, but she was still living so so far it had worked for her.

Mi was so absorbed in her books that she didn't even heard anyone enter the room, and it wasn't until she her a voice that she was even knew someone was close. Her head whipped up in surprise and she almost dropped the book that was in her hands. She didn't think that anyone would be up at this time let alone wandering around. "Oh um.. No I was just doing some research.". What was Nari doing wandering around this late?

Not that Mi kept tabs on Nari, her Queen was free to do whatever she wanted, and Mi would only say something if she thought it was harmful to her health. "I heard a rumor about healing and I wanted to figure out if it was true or not... and it was a downward spiral from there." She smiled as she looked at the pile of books she had gotten out, there really were a lot. "What are you doing up so late?"

nigh thoughts
@[Me-Hui Seong]
Nari allowed herself a small smile of amusement at having caught the healer off guard. "I didn't mean to frighten you." She might be amused that Mi had jumped at her approach, but she hoped she's not actually scared the other woman. "I couldn't sleep, and I saw the light, so I figured I'd see who else was up." She turned her attention to the books on the table and scanned the titles. She didn't know much about healing aside from the very basics, and it was quickly obvious that these books were far beyond her own understanding. But, that was why she had a court Healer.

"Have you been able to figure it out?" Nari asked, genuinely curious. She might not have expertise, but that didn't mean she wasn't interested. "What sort of rumor was it?"

She didn't know why she was so surprised at Nari's interest but she was. Of course it made sense that she would be interested in what her Healer was up too, but Nari was always so busy ruling that Mi did her best to not bug her. She didn't need more on her plate. Well none of them needed more on their plates, Mi knew that she should have gone to sleep a long time ago but answers just seemed so important. So she would catch up on her sleep another time. There had been plenty of times when she had lost sleep due to her own curiosity, and this wouldn't be the last.

"It's ok. It just means I was far too caught up in reading. Have to join the real world at some point right?" She smiled as she looked back up at Nari. It was far too easy for one to get caught up in reading, Mi had done it so often she had lost count. "I am pretty sure I am the only one silly enough to stay up until this hour." It really was after all far too late. She was shocked that even Nari was up. With her busy schedule Mi was sure that she would have passed out at the end of each day.

Mi shook her head at Nari's question. "No. No answers yet and I'm about to give up. It probably was just a rumor.. or someone playing a bad joke on me." She was slowly coming to that conclusion, having not ready a single thing about this new way of healing. "It may sound silly, but they were talking about alternative ways to heal. I know certain herbs can help people but this sounded so different. I was sure it was a rumor, but I just can't let it go." She sighed as she looked back at her books. "But it really looks like it was just a rumor. Which makes sense, why would we continue healing if there was another way. I jsut need to learn to let certain things go. I hope I'm not boring you." She smiled as she looked back up at Nari.
