The Body

Appearance:
Cinnamon. Cinnamon curls, cinnamon colored fur and ears tufted in black, fluffy bobbed tail too tipped in black fur. The scent of cinnamon follows Raith too, xyr hands always awash in the spice among others, finger tips stained ochre from mixing pigments and dyes and all manner of things for ceremonies and rites and renewals. Raithís adornments are sparse, jewels hanging around xyr neck, a single stud through one nostril. So too xyr stripes follow the same sparseness.

Locks
Passing Through Objects

Craft Weaknesses: Anything relating to calming craft and spells, sight shields and aural shields

Personal Strengths: N/A
Personal Weaknesses: N/A

Personality:
To be useful, to be helpful, if Raith could have remained among the sisters xe would have. Xyr temper and psychic scent too sharp for such leisure and ease. Raith is a creature of constants. Constant movement, constant demands, constant wants that are rarely sated. Raithís fangs and claws are never truly sheathed, always a momentís irritation away from sinking into some unfortunate soul. Sharp words settle into spaces where claws canít and xe rises as quickly as the irritation comes, falling away from the temper once it passes. Apologies often on the heels of such outbursts.

Raith is not violent for violenceís sake but out of a need for someone to settle xem rather than send xem away with little more than disdain. Being passed like a hot potato and avoided has done little for Raithís temper and itís the depths of that temper and the drive from it that allow Raith to do xyr best work. Records and scrolls are Raithís therapy, tracing spiraling bloodlines in a past only heard in stories. Useful. Useful does not mean calm and Raithís flurry of activity proves that time and time again.

Calm comes to Raith rarely, most often curled up with xyr children or in a sleepy pile among the other seneschals. Those moments of calm are when Raithís tongue is loosest, half formed hopes and dreams spilled forth like the winter rains.

The Backstory

Family:
  • The Seneschals
  • Dawn | Daughter | Birthright Yellow Priestess
  • Rain | Son | Birthright Green Warlord Prince

History:
Hissing, spitting, easily displeased child. A tiny terror with too much temper and too sharp teeth. The sisters pass xem around, attempts to soothe a temper too sharp for one so small. Warlord Prince that one, maybe, maybe Priestess too. Maybe maybe maybe. Xyr a terrible ghost that maybe the Seneschals will be kind and send xem elsewhere. Maybe, maybe, maybe. Around and around to anyone naive enough to think they could soothe the near feral child or unlucky enough to be stuck with xem.

Wraith. The first name xyr given by a white jeweled priestess as she hands xem off to the Seneschals and they hand the child right back with jewels this time. Wraith. Itís fitting of course. The child is little more than a ghost, too untouchable for anyone to truly tame xem, not that anyone hasnít tried. All the same the name follows. A purple dusk for a ghost of a child, a child that bites and bites and bites. Bites the wrong person too and learns the painful lessons of reserving xyr temper for people that deserve it.

The wraith of anger becomes a wraith of a different sort. Shadowing the older sisters, shadowing the priests, shadowing shadowing shadowing. Xe is intelligent, temper still flaring when denied or confined but cooling, settling into something to be honed. Xyr interest in warfare and healing is fleeting, attempting to focus on the sprawling bloodlines of the territory instead whenever the seneschals and priestess-sisters allowed xem close. A puzzle within a puzzle that allowed xem to curl up and the milder of xyr agemates to finally breathe again. Xyr occupied and quiet, no more hissing and fights so long as xyr occupied.

Occupied with learning to hunt, with learning the finer points of the priestly caste, with learning how to harvest the spices and poppies when given half a chance. Anything to keep xem out of trouble and out of everyone elseís hair. Occupied too when xe begins to question when xyr turn will be to join the seneschals. A virgin night is settled in a haze of brews and xe all but flounces off in the morning, sore and groggy but determined.

The wraith wants xyr mature strength, xyr tired of waiting among the clouds with a temper too sharp to solely reside there. Warlord Prince. The title is one xe embraces fully now that xyr capable of understanding the implication and this time when xe stands before the seneschals xe has no qualms about embracing it. Amusement is the thing that follows, xyr seneschal escort alternating between silent and chuckling. Temper turned to work was better than temper left to stir among the sisters. Down among the dewy caves xe spends the evening reaching for their mature strength. When xe emerges again itís with a Green jewel in hand and a name and purpose among the seneschals.

A chance web woven and presented with the promise of children for Raith, a promise confirmed by the Dreamer and Walker and secured with the rains. One child followed closely by another, slipping through xyr fingers with the passing seasons, birthrights that Raith rightfully could perform pushed back until the very last. Small pleasures to be clung to until the very last.
