Sorcha o' Naur

The Basics

Full Name: Sorcha
Age: 27
Gender/Pronouns: Female. She/her

Ethnicity: Dea al Mon
Birthplace: Province Estel, Dea al Mon
Current Location: Province Estel, Dea al Mon
Profession: Territory Queen

Caste: Black Widow Queen
Birthright Jewel: Blood Opal (CUT 77)
Offering Jewel: Red (CUT 93)

Face Claim: Jessica Biel

The Body

Height: 5'10"
Body Type: Lean and fit
Hair Color: Light Brown
Eye Color: Green

Appearance:
Sorcha is about tall, standing in at 5’10” tall. She is lean and fit, with broad shoulders and slender arms. While she has a lean athletic build, Sorcha also has more curves than her red jewel should have given her. Light brown hair that can make one think of honey. It has a slight wave to it and is rather long. A full mouth and a stubborn chin are well suited in her face, and a rather sharp nose sits between wide, sharp cheekbones. She has a huge friendly smile that lights up her whole face and invites people in. Her light green eyes are topped by well shaped brows. Her ears are the delicately curved and pointed that marks her race as the Children of the Wood and they sit perfectly on the sides of her head.

The Mind

Craft Strengths: 15pts
Reading the Land
Queen's Gift
Blood Bonds
Tangled Webs
Craft Weaknesses: Combat craft and other healing craft. Hearth craft is beyond her and heating/cooling spells often go awry.

Personality:
Sorcha is fierce and territorial. She is cunning and intelligent, learning the craft she would need at the knee of her brilliant grandmother. She is soft and gentle when she needs to be. She excels at hand to hand combat and is one of the most deadly in the territory, having learned the physical fighting craft from the very male who protects her grandmother. She has a tendency to take those weaker than herself under her wing, to teach or protect or whatever comes up and she adores children.

Though it will pain her every time, Sorcha will send her warriors to their deaths without any remorse. She knows how to use the commodities she has been given to the best of her ability. She will cry and tear out her hair in the privacy of her rooms later. Her people will never see anything but the firm, fair, and deadly persona she puts forth to them. Sorcha is the progressive ruler that this new Dea al Mon needs. She craves growth and change. She wants to see her people brought back into the world and will work diligently to see old alliances remade.

The Backstory

Family:
  • Margrit | Grandmother | Purple Dusk to Green Black Widow Queen
  • Owain | Father | Rose to Purple Dusk Warlord
  • Eerika | Mother | Rose to Purple Dusk Healer (deceased)
  • Arin | Brother | Tiger Eye to Summer-sky Caste
  • Sean | Brother | Tiger Eye to Summer-sky Caste

History:
The shield so many dark jeweled witches and princes gave their lives for is failing. It will crumple soon and the webs show a time that in inevitable. The birth of Sorcha was herald in those same webs of her grandmother. It was a celebrated affair and she joined two older brothers. The scent of her caste was unmistakable and that of her queen nearly over powered that of her Lack Widow. The birth of the daughter was the death of the mother and Sorcha's father and grandmother had the raising of her.

And they raised her well.

She learned her craft beneath the watchful eye of her grandmother, found to be a land queen and her craft was developed. Her meager Black Widow abilities were honed as best as they could be by Margrit. They would never be as strong as that of her queen craft, but a natural Black Widow she was as well. Her birthright ceremony was lovely affair and the strong little girl came away clutching her Blood Opal. Her training began in earnest. Craft and hand to hand she was taught and Sorcha could disarm and kill nearly better than the Dark Gate Black Guard. She was the pride of her father and the jewel of her grandmother.

Sorcha was twenty when her Virgin's Night was completed. They had searched long and hard for a male of worth who could make her stronger, the rarest of jewels was sought. A Green jeweled warlord on the outskirts of her grandmother's court. A Warlord who would be given a new placement. He saw her through with care and Sorcha came away stronger and unbroken.

Her offering ceremony was private, her family in attendance and this queenling stepped out clutching a deep well of Red. The webs cast by Margrit were coming to fruition and the dye was cast. The shield failing more and more each day. But here stood their salvation. They needed her strong, progressive granddaughter to bring them back into the world.

Margrit was in the process of stepping down when Sorcha was twenty-five, ready to give the girl the reins to a territory that needed new blood, needed a queen who could bring them from the darkness. In the still of the night someone changed the plans that Sorcha and Margrit fought to realize. Someone murdered her grandmother in the darkness. Never to waken again, her Black guards and Consort inconsolable and guilt ridden that the woman had been murdered beneath their noses.

The whispers began shortly after Sorcha made plans to take the throne. Whispers and rumors that said the Red Queen was a murderess. Whispers that say the webs were a lie and that the death of the queen was proof that opening their borders was just the beginning of their downfall. Rumors that said only a queen commanded Black Guard could kill beneath the noses of other Black Guard. A cousin Sorcha barely remembers has stepped from the shadows, extolling the virtues of closed borders and crying Sorcha's guilt. She promises the safety and protection the naysayers crave and the Red Queen must scramble now.

Sorcha and her court know the truth, they know that Sorcha is innocent of the death of her grandmother but now they have to prove it. While she scurries and scrimps to find the proof she needs, her people are looking farther and farther away from her. She has spent the last two years trying to keep the throne she sits upon.

She will bring Dea al Mon out of the darkness and into the light. She will win this fight.

By force if necessary.
