Moira Dáire

The Basics

Full Name: Moira Dáire
Age: 150
Gender/Pronouns: Female she/her

Ethnicity: An Corithe
Birthplace: Dea Al Mon
Current Location: Dea Al Mon
Profession: Estel Province Pack Leader and sometimes traveling healer

Caste: Priestess Healer
Birthright Jewel: Opal (CUT 16)
Offering Jewel: Sapphire (CUT 78)

Face Claim: Milla Jovovich

The Body

Height: 5'10
Body Type: Fighty
Hair Color: Black/Brown
Eye Color: Pale Amber

Appearance:
The pack leader has to be strong. That is what make her leader. When her strength wains she is replaced. So there is not a line of weariness or a wrinkle of exhaustion ever evident on Moira. She is a perfect balance of feminine power. Legs sturdy, wrapped in hard muscle for running. Arms build for pulling back the string of a bow. But none of her curves are lost in the strength. Hips just a hair too wide for narrow. Breasts just right for hiding with a binder or accentuation with a low cut blouse.

Her hair stays cropped short. Sometimes black as it was at birth, sometimes a shiny brown because it softens her look. Lips lush and firm, but eyes cutting. Even when she is the wolf. The keen edge of her judgment is always in the center of her near gold eyes. Fur short and grey, as standard as they come. Paws dainty and tail swooping up in a curve so that it touches her back.

The Mind

Craft Strengths: 15pts + 3 shifter pts + 2pts = 20pts

Swift Shifter
Guidance Craft
Craft Healing
Physical Enhacement
Phsyical Shields
Craft Weaknesses: Communing,  Telekinetic Surgery, Psychic Shields & Communication

Personality:
Someone has to make the hard choices. Not every mating is a good mating. Not ever match can be a love match. If the An Corithe want to survive, they have to work for it. If they want to thrive, they have to earn it. And that is what makes Moira a good, if stern leader. She doesn't hesitate to break her own heart punishing those that need discipline. She can let the envy of others shrug from her shoulders instead of wear her down. She is a rock in the middle of a storm tossed sea. Unnoticed until you need her, and then there to keep you from drowning.

An oldest child she learned leadership early. How to speak to people, to guide their opinions in the right direction. Help them see reason and form logic. How to hide her mistakes and how to make them right again. It's a lonely role, leading the pack. And one full of pressures. But she is the strongest, so she serves the way the Darkness intended.

The Backstory

  • Name | Mother | Tiger Eye to Summer-sky witch

  • Daithi Daire | Estranged Brother | Sapphire to Gray black widow warlord prince healer
  • Name | Sister | White to Tiger Eye black widow
  • Name | Paternal Uncle| White to Rose warlord
  • Name | Maternal Aunt | Rose to Opal healer
  • Name | Maternal Aunt | Summer-sky to Purple Dusk witch
  • Name | Cousin | Summer-sky to Opal prince
  • Keavy Villiers | Cousin | Summer-sky to Opal Priestess

History:
Birth - The firstborn to an acceptable love match Moira enjoyed a peaceful, if boring childhood. Training in balance, moral integrity and the ways to swing a stick until lessons in craft began.

Birthright - When the time was right she made her first descent into the Abyss. It was an experience that sang to her soul. Small hands digging deep into the earth until she had made a den. Then seeking out the mud caked Jewel that would be her Birthright. A symbol of strength to come.

Baby Sister - Not many moons after her Birthright Moira was stripped of her title as only child. The change was an adjustment. In time she learned to love the sister that had invaded her family. Learned that the pack grew richer with each new life it produced.

Training -One caste inborn, one trained out of love. Moira has never made clear which is which, and most assume she is natural to both. But she didn't have to be a priestess. She just saw it was the way to help as many as possible. Her Training is intense. They want more than just her abilities with Craft. The coven has made their webs, seen her strength, and convinced her grandmother that is the grandchild to claim as her apprentice.

Transformation - An unspeakable pain as her bones turn to ash in her body. Moira was not ready. It takes hours that feel like an eternity. So slow her parents start to worry. Healers come to ply her with brews that lessen but do not take away the agony. Then finally it is done. She wears the skin of the wolf and learns to make the change. Never quickly, but no longer an hours long process either.

Baby brother - But first another blessing from the darkness. Little brother to toddle after the girls. Chasing them and mastering his temper against their sharp experience. Bullied until he needs petting and naps. Happy if often tumbled.

Apprenticeship - The time is nearing. Grandmother is far from frail but she has many things to teach Moira. Secrets of the mating-brew. How to deal with other pack leaders. The intricacies of working alongside Queens when their own people have none born to them. Posturing without bowing when her caste places her beneath the rampant bulk of warlord princes their race breeds. It is almost too much. But Moira manages. Just as she manages to forgive those that think they would have filled the role better.

Tragedy - It was the first mating meet that Moira had ever attended. Nervous and ready to have the duty off her back she approves of those matches she can, making sure the balance of women joining their family was not less than the strength of those leaving. Avoiding her own duty to select a man. Tomorrow. Tomorrow. She would do it tomorrow. Except by morning there was no one left to choose from. Moira spared only because she had spent the night in her other form. Prowling through the forest to work the stress of her day off through hunting. It is a choice she both regrets and is thankful for. So many lost! So many taken. Her brother all animal when she finds him in the center of a half dozen carcasses. Chewing away as if he had done the killing for food instead of self defense. He bit her when she took the heart away. Then disappeared into the mist. Leaving her to help the survivors and clear the mess up on her own.

Pack Leader - Something had to be done, Grandmother decided. Daithi was too strong, and too insane, to be out there unsupervised. If they couldn't control him anymore he had to die before he exposed them all. But he was her brother. Few knew the horror he had seen. That he had survived. Moira would not let him be punished for embodying the spirit of the wolf. One day, she was sure, he would heal. He would return. And she was right, sometimes he did. Himself for days, weeks, nearly convincing them all he would stay that way before he snapped again. To save him she took what would have been hers a few centuries early. The fight to the death a vicious affair that still haunts her dreams.

Present Day - But she won. She was the strongest. The Darkness sparing her humiliation by not driving her brother to exposed them- yet. She tries to lure him back sometimes. Not always in kind ways. Girls tied to tree trunks so he might be tempted near. Drugging him with brews so he might let the Black Widows into his mind. Nothing has helped, or kept him around for very long. And Moira has too many duties to focus on just one. It has been many moons since the mating meet. The women are ripe, the men ready. It's time to see to rebuilding what was lost.
