Danger

The Basics

Full Name: Once called Lambi Daggertree but no one living knows it.
Age: 25ish
Gender/Pronouns: male he/him

Ethnicity: Glacian
Birthplace: Glacia
Current Location: Glacia
Profession: Death incarnate

Caste: Prince
Birthright Jewel: Sapphire (CUT 07)
Offering Jewel: Ebon-gray (CUT 51)

Face Claim: Vannier Joffrey

The Body

Height: 6'0
Body Type: Fit but hungry
Hair Color: Light brown
Eye Color: Blue

Appearance:
A shadow on the edge of your vision. The sort that your barriers scream not to look directly at. Funny, that it isn't he sight of him that kills. But the sound.

Head on Danger is any man. One of a million. Passingly handsome under the wear and tear of travel clothes. Wrapped tight against Glacian winters. Or bare to the britches in Little Terreillian summers. Nothing about the way he looks calls for attention. But his barriers radiate with warning. Do not disturb. Do no approach. Danger, danger, danger.

In the nude, his body tells a strange story of suffering. Wrists and ankles thick with the shadows of chains long ago broken. Throat opened and closed and opened again in a patchwork of scars. Back lined with a strange series of round circles. Burn scars that he could not- in any sense of the phrase- tell you the purpose of.

The Mind

Craft Strengths: 15pts

Danger suffers a severe sonic Craft anomaly. Through a strange breach in his psyche Craft is summoned through his spoken word. Not in a cast spells sort of way- in a 'accidentally whisper hello and a sonic blast strong enough to level Odense comes out' sort of way.

Aural Shields
Physical Shields
Psychic Communication
Craft Weaknesses: Most everything, he has no training and uses only instinctive craft

Personality:
At his very core Danger is a stereotypical prince. Reflexive control over his temper. Even keeled. Staunch in his opinions. It is not his mind that makes him dangerous. He takes no pleasure in causing pain. Regret the destruction that follows in his wake. He's never wanted to hurt anyone, even those that hurt him. It just happens. Spills out of his mouth before he can stop it. Or while he sleeps. A slip of the tongue, and the village lays flat.

It follows, naturally, that he is a scarred man. Afraid of himself. Sure that he's beyond help. Or at least too much of a risk to get close enough to help. He does not lack confidence in himself, nor his abilities. But he has paid the price of making mistakes before. And it is too hefty a toll for his heart. He is not overly kind. Not particularly friendly. In fact, for the safety of others he has lived most of his life alone. In a self-imposed exile that he rarely breaks.

When put in the position to deal with other people Danger tends to be awkward. Years of dealing with his curse have ruined his hearing. And he cannot actually speak without it wiping your eyebrows off your face at the very least. So conversation is tricky for those opposed to cracking barriers with a man that wears his Ebon-gray at his own throat.

The Backstory

Family:

History:
This history contains graphic violence and descriptions of child abuse

Hot water up to his chin. Fitting that the wellspring would be his first real memory. It was the center of their house and likely the only reason he lived. Each day they dipped him into the water. Let it seep into the hurts his frail body housed. Skin mended by the woman that called herself his mother. Then reopened by the chains the man called father bound him to the table with. Agony. Food. Bath. Sleep. The cycles of Lambi's life went unchanged for more years than he could count.

The water only reached up to his shoulders when they took him outside. Sun warm on a pale face that had not felt it except through the pane of a small window. And the pain of brews that were pumped through his nose while sobbed in father's 'healing room'. At the temple he was herded with the other children. Who did not speak to him, or of him. Only shied away at a child their parents called sickly. That was the story. The reason the small family had moved to Meols and bought a house in the countryside. For the well that it sat over. To keep their sickly boy alive. It must have worked, since he went into the circle with the rest and received a jewel same as they all had.

His was blue. Dark blue. Like the sky right before dawn. In the hour when the stars were still out. And he dreamed of being on the other side of the little window. He didn't know how he knew to put it away. In the secret place. He just did. And when mother and father asked to see, he lied. Said there was not one to be seen. The priestess frowned but did not correct him. The man and the woman took him home before the festival could really start.

From there the pain was worse. What they were trying to do or heal Lambi did not know. But it did not work. He knew that because one day the brew made his body spasm in pops of color. He found his Webs inside his head. And dreamed that a flaming monster rose through the Abyss to reach through his psyche and strangle father. When he woke, the chains were still there. But nothing else. The house, the furniture, the parents. All gone. Razed flat with a square acre in ever direction. Trees blasted flat. Ears ringing and eyes watering in pain. People came, and they tried to speak to him but Lambi could not understand the words. And every time he asked them to help, they were thrown back. Until finally, finally, finally a sleeping spell crept around his ankles. This was something he knew, he could recognize, he could understand. Time for bed boy.

They didn't know what to do with him. Except be afraid. When his mouth opened the sound was unbearable. Noses bled. Eardrumbs popped. Sometimes they were tossed away like paper on the wind. He had to learn little by little to watch his voice. His tone. His intent. It was easy then. Though there were many mistakes. An orphanage devastated. A village where an old woman thought she might have a cure. By twenty he had killed as many people and tried to carve his own tongue out of his mouth. Found that way in the woods he was brought to a healer. Unplanned suicide averted, and tongue reattached. In repayment he cried and flattened their house.

A new Jewel. That, many said, would help. Would give him the power to erect shields that would protect others. Lambi believed them. He went into the temple, and came out again with a Jewel that made them tremble. His shields did help, when he knew to put them up. But the price... the cost... the whispered word when he was dreaming. The moan of ecstasy the first time a woman slipped down his spear. The laugh at an almost friends joke.

By twenty five he had killed twice that many people.
