Walker Saint

The Basics

Full Name: Walker Saint
Age: 37
Gender/Pronouns: male/he/him

Ethnicity: Tiger/SL
Birthplace: Tigrelan
Current Location: Tigrelan
Profession: The Walker of Tigrelan

Caste: Black Widow Prince
Birthright Jewel: Opal (CUT 73)
Offering Jewel: Sapphire (CUT 46)

Face Claim: Maximiliano Patane

The Body

Height: 6'1
Body Type: Stalker grace
Hair Color: Brown
Eye Color: Green

Appearance:
His hair is a sooty sort of blond. Brown, mostly, bleached by the sun when it works its way through the canopy. Or when Saint dares the plains near the sea. Skin burnt by rough sun as he watches the waves. A sea of ships or ships to see. Windblown and rarely groomed, it crowds his face and shoulder, catching on the tips of his ears. Ears which are narrow and tall, their tips topped with a short tuft of dark hair. Fur a shade lighter than his hair, a rather symmetrical chunk missing from the base of the right ear.

Rather than a claw beneath the sheath of his ring finger on his right hand, Saint has a fang, a mark of his brotherhood with spiders. It is thick, growing in slightly at an angle, its tip black and its base a sickly grey. His other claws are thick, the color of smoke from a damp fire and sharply hooked. The claw of his left pinkie finger never retracts. His tail is nearly two feet in length, ending bluntly near his knee. Once upon a time, he could wrap its length down to his calf.

His stripes are many and varied. Mostly in reds and blues, they blur the lines of his body, hiding the definition of muscle, and tracing the edges of scars. Over his right shoulder is the dream of his birthing, and working its way downward to end in a single drop of white venom at his wrist, is the dream of his dying.

The Mind

Craft Strengths: 15pts
Walking the Twisted Kingdom
Physical Enhancement
Antidote Crafting
Craft Weaknesses: Psychic Communication. Illusion & Compulsion Webs.

Personality:
The Walker smiles. Serene. Benevolent. He smiles listening to your worries. He smiles as he cuts your throat. The Walker smiles. Only when faced with the fairer sex does the Walker put away his smile. Stone faced. Stoic.

To smile for women is to submit. And the Walker will never grovel for a cloud sipping bitch as long as he lives.

The control of a prince coupled with the duplicity of a black widow. Saint is controlled. Calm. Dedicated. He sees his brother die or hunger or wounds or broken hearts. Sees those who should have been his sisters climb farther and farther from them. Up and away from all that dwells below, as if they can climb away from Mother Night like they climb away from the floods.

In the heat of battle or the passion of rut, all these things cease to be for Saint. He is not the Walker, but a killer. Not a man but a beast. For him, the killing fields are the roar of all his control splitting away from his body. And love would surely doom them all, so he sates lust in violence and buries his heart deeper than his webs.

The Backstory

Family:
    The Coalition

History:
The Dreamer bore a son, as most did. He was not a surprise, because she had dreamed him before his coming. The web saved to be applied to his skin later when she carried him down to the base of the temple and gave him over to the Seneschals, who gave him over to the men.

Saint remembers what it was like to live above. Soft breasts. Sweet laughter. A dozen mothers holding him fast before one let him go. There was no such softness with the men. Their hands were calloused and their bodies hard. Fur often full of mats and burs. But there was kindness. And no one let go of his hand or turned a back on him.

They were brothers. His father taller than the clouds, he did not need steps to reach the sun. He climbed swifter than the monkeys he hunted, and taught Saint how to hide in brush, and vanish against the trunks of trees. How to swim in the tumbling rivers and spear fish from a rocking boat. At night he took him to the edge of the world to watch giant beasts rise from the depths and blow salt into the sky.

"Stars." He was told. Stars were made this way.

When his blood caught fire and his snake tooth grew in, his father stroked his chin and took him to a tumble of stone. He could not follow, but he would wait outside. Not yet another abandonment. Just a short separation that grew longer as time passed and Saint himself stretched to fill the gaps. A young man less in need of a hand on his shoulder.

Things to learn his father could not teach him. Violence that could not be matched. Dreams that could not be shared. Saint walked a place that snowed, but no one knew what snow was but him. Above them the dreams passed to a new Dreamer, and Saint remembered he had had a mother once, and that he did not know her name.

His world burned and drowned. Saint learned to walk through snow without sinking. He knew the sound of cracking ice and the taste of frozen rain. Saw shards and broken lances. Red clouds and withering trees. Birds that fell from the sky.

He tasted blood. Brothers enemies. Lost half his tail in a spat over a string of trout and the pretty seneschal who had caught them. Half a tail for a full belly and empty balls seemed worth the price then. He remembers it now with a smile. The Walker always smiles. Face tipped toward the sun from the top of a high tower, Sapphire lifted like an offering of gratitude.

He does not dream at night. When is claws etch webs into stone, it is not the sky he sees. Its a thousand holes driven into the ground and filled again with flesh instead of soil.
